Dong Thap Football Club (Vietnamese: Câu lạc bộ Bóng đá Đồng Tháp), simply known as Dong Thap, is a Vietnamese football club based in Cao Lãnh, Đồng Tháp Province. Following the club's most recent relegation from the top-flight during the 2016 season, Đồng Tháp returned to the V.League 2 for the 2017 campaign. The team is currently playing at Cao Lãnh Stadium.
History
Dissolution and return
Following the 2014 V.League 2 season, the club's corporate sponsor announced that they would no longer fund the club. Not having enough resources to fund the club for their promotion to the 2015 V.League 1 season, the local sporting council decided to dissolve the club. However, a deal with Hong Quang Work Construction & Real Estate Investment Joint Stock Company helped save the club ahead of the 2015 season.
Clubul a fost fondat în 1976 și este deținut de guvernul provinciei Dong Thap. Echipa a jucat pe stadionul Cao Lanh, cu o capacitate de 5.000 de locuri, până în 2016, când s-a mutat pe noul stadion Dong Thap, cu o capacitate de 18.000 de locuri.
Dong Thap a câștigat Cupa Națională a Vietnamului în 1999 și a fost finalist în Cupa Ligii Vietnamului în 2006. Clubul a participat, de asemenea, la Cupa AFC de două ori, în 2000 și 2007.
Actualul antrenor al Dong Thap este Nguyen Van Sy, iar căpitanul echipei este Nguyen Thanh Hao. Echipa este cunoscută pentru stilul său ofensiv de joc și pentru baza sa puternică de fani în provincia Dong Thap.
